7:50pm: Just got a call from the RN friend at the hospital. He says that she's out of surgery, and that the surgeon stopped by a good while ago to say that his part was done (and went as well as expected.)

However, Elise has not yet been released from the recovery room: they're still having problems with
pain management. (This is something we thought might happen, so it's not good but not a shock or anything.) He's hoping they'll get that under control in the near future, but it's likely she'll be zonked out for the immediate future once that happens.

I was originally planning to go over there and spell people so they could get dinner, but in light of the new information, I'm going to take myself to bed so I can be up and shiny and awake for my 6-10am shift sitting with Elise tomorrow morning.

(I'll be bringing my computer with me at that point, and will have the page loaded with any comments made here before then, so I can read them to Elise if she's awake for it.)

I'm delighted that the surgery went as well as expected, sorry to hear about the pain management problems, hopeful that the pain management is managed soon, and thankful that Elise has such a fine external brain.

(This is Catherine L. - I don't have a Dreamwidth login) Yay on the surgery going well. :-) Here's hoping that they figure things out enough for her to get some rest. Jana and I send our best for a speedy recovery.
Thanks again for the update, too, BTW.

Hello all,

Elise has finally been sent up to her room. Spoke to her briefly and her sense of humor is fully intact. Pain management continues to be an issue, and we'll continue to pursue that. More later! ~Ed~

Best wishes to Elise the Lioness -- I'll be lighting a candle for her tonight, and making some earrings in her honor. (Tentative title: "Summer Light is the Strength of the Lion.")

Holding the Lioness up to the Light, praying for best outcome, sending HealingThoughts FedEx, particularly for the next few months. Also, I hope they get that pain management thing under control.

I'm glad the surgery went well and hope the pain management is figured out now, or soon. Good thoughts from Ontario.

Sending thoughts and healing energy from my corner of the world.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the pain management stuff, especially... I know what a challenge it can be, and how critical.

But I feel confident that our Lioness will be healthy and whole and comfortable soon!

Hugs to her and to you, oh External Brain, and to all who are loving her and supporting her through this process.

Blessings!

Welcome...
