7:50pm: Just got a call from the RN friend at the hospital. He says that she's out of surgery, and that the surgeon stopped by a good while ago to say that his part was done (and went as well as expected.)
However, Elise has not yet been released from the recovery room: they're still having problems with
pain management. (This is something we thought might happen, so it's not good but not a shock or anything.) He's hoping they'll get that under control in the near future, but it's likely she'll be zonked out for the immediate future once that happens.
I was originally planning to go over there and spell people so they could get dinner, but in light of the new information, I'm going to take myself to bed so I can be up and shiny and awake for my 6-10am shift sitting with Elise tomorrow morning.
(I'll be bringing my computer with me at that point, and will have the page loaded with any comments made here before then, so I can read them to Elise if she's awake for it.)

Elise Update 7-14 10:15pm
Date: 2009-07-15 03:27 am (UTC)Elise has finally been sent up to her room. Spoke to her briefly and her sense of humor is fully intact. Pain management continues to be an issue, and we'll continue to pursue that. More later! ~Ed~

Date: 2009-07-15 12:48 pm (UTC)Keeping my fingers crossed for the pain management stuff, especially... I know what a challenge it can be, and how critical.
But I feel confident that our Lioness will be healthy and whole and comfortable soon!
Hugs to her and to you, oh External Brain, and to all who are loving her and supporting her through this process.
Blessings!
Welcome...
